The national week of collection will be here before we know it!  The collection week is November 12-19.  For those filling shoe boxes, please drop them off at the office no later than Sunday, November 11th along with $9.00 for shipping.  Just place your money in the envelop and place in the box.  Remember to place the correct sticker and age so that the the child receiving your box will get the appropriate box.  Envelopes are available on the table in the front foyer.             Here are some example of the items you may pack in your box: dolls, stuffed animals, music instruments, match box cars, jump ropes, yo-yos, toys that light up plus (extra batteries), socks, hats, gloves, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry and watches, flashlights with extra batteries pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, coloring books, regular books, solar calculators, toothbrushes, bars of soap, washcloths, comb and brush.                DO NOT INCLUDE candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items, war-related items, seeds, food, liquids or lotions, medications or vitamins, breakable items or glass container and aerosol cans.

With the crispness in the air, our gardens slowly dying for the year and the holiday season upon us, we begin to think of those less fortunate.  October is “World Hunger” month.  As God has blessed us abundantly, let us begin praying for this mission and give generously so others can have the nutritional food to sustain their health.  October 14th is our “Emphasis” Sunday.  You may give throughout the month.  Offering envelopes are in the pews.

Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer

Hopewell Baptist Church has extended an invitation to the Ladies of First Baptist to join them for “Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer” on Monday evening, November 5.  The evening will begin at 6:30p.m. with a soup, salad and dessert supper and followed by the program.  They are asking that each church attending to bring one (1) dessert.  Please call Sharon at the church office by November 1st if you plan to attend.  Sharon must RSVP for reservations.
